[Book 4 Preamble] Numbered Inmates: Part 4
Solo Prisoner

Chapter co-written and illustrated by Doot and Bampot00/Six

Lennk sighed as he stared out the airship window to the valley below. He had everything he wanted. Six was back in his possession, he and Kievva were collaborating on important projects, the Dejarins were all but destroyed, and there was seemingly no one to stop their plans.

Why wasn't he happy?

He knew the answer.

Six Alpha.

She was his champion. She always was. More powerful than all the other of his Twelve combined, she was supposed to be like the rest of them. Subservient... Obedient.  Made to carry out his commands and orders without question.

The Dejarins ruined all that for him the moment they had found her, an unfortunate accident when her stasis pod when missing while transporting her and the rest of the Twelve to one of his labs. They gave her free will. They gave her choices.  They made her realize she was not a tool of destruction; that she had her own mind.

Of course he still had the other remaining Twelve, and even though Five, Seven and now Ten were dead, the others still followed his commands without question. But he would give all the remaining Twelve to have her willingly at his side.

Except Six. Of course the behavior modifier he had implanted in her had worked, for a time, but after she had defied his will and freed Sixteen, he knew that too no longer was an option.

He walked down the hallway and entered a room at its end. The door slid open and shut behind him as he walked down a railed platform toward a figure suspended in the air by magnetic shackles that kept the elemental abilities he had bestowed upon her as a small child dormant.

"Hello Six," he sneered.

The young woman looked down at him silently, the ever-present glare on her face.

"The sooner you realize that your defiance is futile, the better. The end result is the same," he said, looking up at her.  "You may as well accept this and take your rightful place by my side. Your friends will never take you back. You killed Harid. The Dejarin estate is destroyed. All because of you."

Six glared down at him, her teeth clenched, a single tear rolling down her cheek. "Never..."

Lennk looked up at her and sneered.

"We will see about that."
